Justice Served Daily

Has anybody noticed how the United States has been creeping towards and celebrating barbarism?

How it's now official: assasination squads are a good thing.  They serve democracy.*

"Brought to justice," means, in the vernacular of the President, shot at home along with members of one's family.

Brought to justice used to mean, even recently, captured and tried before a tribunal.  But today it can mean caught like a dog in a sewer, shot in the head and dragged through the streets before being displayed in a meat locker.

It's not just "brought to" that has been changed... "brought to" meaning delivered to 'meet one's maker,' but Justice... the first four definitions are now EXTINCT!

1. the quality of being just; righteousness, equitableness, or moral rightness: to uphold the justice of a cause.
2. rightfulness or lawfulness, as of a claim or title; justness of ground or reason: to complain with justice.
3. the moral principle determining just conduct.
4. conformity to this principle, as manifested in conduct; just conduct, dealing, or treatment.
All that is left is definition five:
5. the administering of deserved punishment or reward, decided by mob rule.
Which is
Summary Justice
the trial and punishment of suspected offenders without recourse to a more formal and protracted trial (for example a jury trial) under the legal system. It is also a term sometimes used to describe or justify vigilantism, (aka assassination.)

Poor Old Plato!  His "Republic" is now toilet paper!

The only way for humanity to advance is to put evil on trial.
The Secretary of State Hilary Clinton on the death of Gaddafi:

"Another ruthless dictator being brought to justice should serve as a message to tyrants everywhere: Government must be accountable to its people," said Sen. Claire McCaskill, D-Mo., in a statement.

Afterword:
There are dozens of videos-by-phone of the killing of Gaddafi.. and hundreds of reports of the voice on these videos saying, "Keep him alive!"  That was the voice of civilization, preserved for history.
And today, four days after the killing there is this:
Mustafa Abdel-Jalil, head of the ruling national transitional council (NTC), said a committee had been set up to look into the circumstances of the deaths of Gaddafi and his son Mutassim in Sirte, the scene of the regime's last defiant stand. He said Libyans would have preferred to see the deposed leader stand trial and be held accountable for his crimes.
